Baby water confidence is a child's first gentle encounter with the water, in a heated pool and in small groups, with a parent in the water. At the GiZeta pool in Grandola ed Uniti, the Wednesday-morning baby courses take place with the pool brought up to 34 °C, on Lake Como.

Who it’s for
Infants and children from 2–3 months up to 4 years, accompanied by a parent. You start after the first round of vaccinations and with your paediatrician's approval.
Age groups

- 0–6 months first contact with the water, always in the parent's arms
- 6–12 months assisted floating and trust games
- 1–2 years free movement in shallow water, always with the parent
- 2–4 years building independence, first swimming movements in the form of play

How much it costs
14 € per lesson
On top there is the annual membership fee of 20 €, once per season (1 September → 31 August): it does not include the lessons, which are paid per lesson.
Price per cycle: from around 150 € to 180 €, depending on the actual number of lessons in the cycle and the type of course (closures and public holidays excluded).

At what age can you take a baby to the pool?

Water confidence courses begin as early as 2–3 months, after the first round of vaccinations and with your paediatrician's approval. The programme accompanies children up to 4 years old, in a heated pool and in small groups with a parent in the water.
What temperature is the water for the baby courses?

The Grandola pool is kept at 32 °C all year round. For the courses dedicated to babies, on Wednesday mornings, the temperature is brought up to 34 °C, so the change in temperature for the little ones is minimal.
What benefits does swimming have for babies?

Water confidence supports psychomotor development, familiarity with the water and a sense of security, reduces future fear of the water and strengthens the parent-child bond through contact in the pool. It is a relaxing and stimulating activity at the same time, suitable from the very first months of life.
Does the parent have to get into the water with the child?

Yes: in water confidence the parent is always in the water with the child. You need a swimsuit, a swim cap and, for the youngest ones, the special disposable swim nappy, as well as your paediatrician's approval. The instructor assists the parent-child pair throughout the lesson.

Baby & toddler water confidence, 2 months–4 years: 14 € per lesson. On top there is the annual membership fee of 20 €, valid for the whole sports season (1 September – 31 August): it does not include the courses, which are paid per lesson. How does signing up for a course work?

You sign up for the course and start right away: choose the course, reserve your spot and at your first lesson you are already in. Message us on WhatsApp or fill in the contact form and we’ll tell you available spots, schedules and how to complete your registration.
What if I can no longer continue the course?

If during the season a significant issue means you can no longer continue, just talk to the office: together we’ll find the most suitable solution.
Do I need a medical certificate?

Yes: everyone enrolled aged 6 and over needs a non-competitive medical certificate. Under the age of 6 it is not required.
How do make-up lessons work?
+
At the Grandola pool you have 3 make-up lessons, still valid in the next cycle too — even if in the meantime you are no longer enrolled.
