Frequently asked questions

What is acquapilates and who is it for?

+
Acquapilates is Pilates carried out in the water: it uses the resistance and support of the water to strengthen the deep core muscles and improve posture and balance with minimal impact on the back and joints. It suits all ages and anyone looking for gentle yet effective postural work.

What is the difference between acquapilates and acquagym?

+
Acquagym is medium-to-high intensity water fitness, geared towards cardio and tone. Acquapilates is more controlled and postural: it focuses on the deep core muscles, breathing, stability and balance, with slow and precise movements. Many people combine the two for a complete workout.

Is acquapilates good for back pain?

+
Yes: by strengthening the deep muscles that support the spine and working on posture in a low-impact environment, acquapilates can help anyone with lower-back instability or a tendency to back pain. In the case of specific conditions, it is best to check with your doctor first.
