The path, step by step

    Warm-up in the water

    Getting active to the beat, becoming familiar with the submerged step.

  2. Step 2

    Basic sequences

    Stepping up and down in time with the music.

  3. Step 3

    Cardio phase

    More intense combinations to raise your heart rate.

  4. Step 4

    Cool-down

    Slow movements and stretching in warm water.

How much it costs
14 € per lesson

On top there is the annual membership fee of 20 €, once per season (1 September → 31 August): it does not include the lessons, which are paid per lesson.

Price per cycle: from around 150 € to 180 €, depending on the actual number of lessons in the cycle and the type of course (closures and public holidays excluded).

What is acquastep and who is it for?

Acquastep is an aerobic workout carried out on a submerged platform in the pool: it combines step movements with the resistance of the water. It suits adults looking for cardio that is effective yet gentle on the joints. At the GiZeta pool in Grandola it takes place in heated water at 32 °C.

Do you need to know how to swim to do acquastep?

No: you work in shallow water, standing on the platform, with the water at chest height. You do not need to know how to swim, you just need to feel comfortable in shallow water.

What benefits does it have over traditional step?

The water supports the body and reduces the impact on the knees and back, while its resistance increases the muscular work. You get a cardio and toning workout with far less joint stress than step on land.

When does acquastep take place at GiZeta?

In the current season, acquastep is scheduled on Friday evenings at the Grandola pool. Times may change for organisational reasons: message us for confirmation of the up-to-date slot.

Do you need a medical certificate?

Yes, for members aged 6 and over a non-competitive medical certificate is required. As this is a cardio activity, it is also a safeguard for you.

How much does acquastep cost at GiZeta?

Acquastep: 14 € per lesson. On top there is the annual membership fee of 20 €, valid for the whole sports season (1 September – 31 August): it does not include the courses, which are paid per lesson. How does signing up for a course work?

You sign up for the course and start right away: choose the course, reserve your spot and at your first lesson you are already in. Message us on WhatsApp or fill in the contact form and we’ll tell you available spots, schedules and how to complete your registration.

What if I can no longer continue the course?

If during the season a significant issue means you can no longer continue, just talk to the office: together we’ll find the most suitable solution.

How do make-up lessons work?

At the Grandola pool you have 3 make-up lessons, still valid in the next cycle too — even if in the meantime you are no longer enrolled.
