Frequently asked questions
What age is gentle fitness for seniors designed for?
+
This is the course dedicated to seniors: there's no fixed limit, but the group and the exercises are designed for those over 60-65 who want to stay active safely. At the Uggiate con Ronago studio we work at a suitable pace, with plenty of attention given to each person.
Is it safe if I have balance or joint problems?
+
Yes, that's actually one of the aims of the course: many exercises use a chair or the wall for support and work on balance and mobility. Let the instructor know your needs and they'll adapt the movements for you. For specific medical conditions, please check with your doctor first.
What benefits does it offer older people?
+
It maintains joint mobility, basic strength and balance, reducing the risk of falls and helping to preserve independence in everyday activities. It's also a social occasion: you meet up, get to know one another and enjoy time together, in a friendly, regular appointment.
Do I need to be fit already?
+
No. The course starts from the idea that everyone has their own level: the exercises are adapted and the intensity is always moderate. It's made for those easing back into movement gently, with no rush and no pressure to keep up with anyone else.
Do I need a medical certificate?
+
Yes, a non-competitive medical certificate is required for all adult members. You hand it in at the front desk when you register. It's a straightforward requirement that applies to every adult course, so it's worth sorting out before your first lesson.
