Frequently asked questions

What is Acquantalgica and who is it for?

+
Acquantalgica is a gentle activity in warm water (at least 31 °C) designed to prevent and ease back and joint pain. It suits anyone with back pain, neck problems or postural issues, or who does heavy or sedentary work. The buoyancy of the water reduces the load on the body by up to 80–90%.

Does Acquantalgica help with back pain?

+
Yes: buoyancy reduces the load on your spine while the warmth of the water relaxes your muscles, easing tension and pain. It works as a wellbeing and prevention activity. It does not replace physiotherapy when that has been prescribed, but it can support it during maintenance.

What is the difference between Acquantalgica and hydrokinesitherapy?

+
Acquantalgica is a gentle group class aimed at wellbeing and prevention. Hydrokinesitherapy, by contrast, is individual physiotherapy rehabilitation, typically after an injury or an operation, with a dedicated physiotherapist. They are different activities in both purpose and approach.

What temperature is the water for the antalgic classes?

+
The Grandola pool is kept at 32 °C all year round. It is a temperature that relaxes the muscles and makes movement easier for anyone with joint pain or recovering from a physical problem.

How much does acquantalgica cost at GiZeta?

+
Acquantalgica: 14 € per lesson. On top there is the annual membership fee of 20 €, valid for the whole sports season (1 September – 31 August): it does not include the courses, which are paid per lesson. You’ll find the full price list, the calculation formula and the family discount on the Prices page.

How does signing up for a course work?

+
You sign up for the course and start right away: choose the course, reserve your spot and at your first lesson you are already in. Message us on WhatsApp or fill in the contact form and we’ll tell you available spots, schedules and how to complete your registration.

What if I can no longer continue the course?

+
If during the season a significant issue means you can no longer continue, just talk to the office: together we’ll find the most suitable solution.

Do I need a medical certificate?

+
Yes: everyone enrolled aged 6 and over needs a non-competitive medical certificate. Under the age of 6 it is not required.

How do make-up lessons work?

+
At the Grandola pool you have 3 make-up lessons, still valid in the next cycle too — even if in the meantime you are no longer enrolled.
