Frequently asked questions
From what age can children start pre-dance?
+
The course is designed for children aged 3 to 6: it's their first approach to dance, built around play, rhythm and coordination. At the GiZeta studios in Sagnino and Uggiate con Ronago the groups are small, so the teacher can follow every child closely. This gentle start helps little ones feel confident and enjoy moving to music.
Does my child need to have danced before?
+
No — this is exactly the starting point. No formal technique is taught: instead, children develop rhythm, coordination and body awareness through play. It's the ideal foundation before moving on, as they grow, to modern dance. Everything happens at a child's pace, so your little one simply learns by having fun with the group.
What should my child bring?
+
Comfortable clothing that lets them move freely, plus non-slip socks or soft dance shoes. No special equipment is needed. At the office we'll give you the details for the location you've chosen, including anything specific to that studio. If you're unsure about shoes, just ask us and we'll point you in the right direction.
Is there an end-of-year show?
+
Yes. At the end of the season the children prepare a final moment to show families and friends what they've achieved during the year. It's the most eagerly awaited event of the course. Working towards this little performance gives the youngsters a shared goal and a lovely sense of pride, and it's always a joy for the families to watch.
Do they need a medical certificate?
+
Below the age of 6 a certificate is not required. From 6 upwards a non-competitive medical certificate is needed, and you hand it in at the office. Since this course is for children aged 3 to 6, most will not need one, but if your child turns 6 during the season we'll let you know what to do.
