Do you need to be flexible or experienced to start yoga?
+
No, and it's the most common misconception. You start as a beginner, with simple positions and variations adapted to your own body: flexibility is a result of the practice, not an entry requirement. In the GiZeta courses at Sagnino and Uggiate con Ronago the groups are small, so the teacher can correct each person's posture.
What's the difference between GiZeta's various yoga courses?
+
At GiZeta you'll find four paths: Yoga, the complete core practice; Yoga Hatha, traditional, with positions held for longer; Women's Yoga, designed around the needs of the female body; and Yoga Harmonium, in which the sequence is accompanied by the live sound of the harmonium. If you're not sure which to choose, message us and we'll guide you.
Yoga or Pilates for back pain?
+
They work in different ways: Pilates strengthens the deep core muscles that stabilise the spine, while yoga works more on mobility, lengthening and breathing. For postural lower-back pain both help, often in complementary ways. At GiZeta you'll find both in the same studios, so you can even alternate between them.
What do you need to bring to your first yoga lesson?
+
Comfortable clothing that lets you move, a mat if you have one (otherwise ask at the venue) and a towel. You practise barefoot. It's best to arrive without having eaten too much in the previous two hours: some positions work on the abdomen, and digesting a heavy meal can feel uncomfortable.
From what age can you attend the yoga course?
+
GiZeta's yoga courses are adult activities, open from age 15–16 upwards. For younger children the right path is psychomotricity, for ages 3 to 9, which works on coordination and body awareness through play. If you're unsure whether the course is right for a teenager, message us and we'll advise you.
