Who it’s for

The course is open to everyone, including those who have never practised: it doesn't matter how flexible or fit you are, because every position has its own variation and you always work from your own body. It's especially helpful if you spend many hours sitting, if you build up tension between the neck and shoulders, and if you're looking for an activity that relaxes the mind as well.
Benefits

Breathe, stretch, rediscover balance

Mobility and lengthening for the whole body
Less tension in the neck, shoulders and back
Deeper, more conscious breathing
Balance, concentration and stress management
How it works

The path, step by step

  1. Step 1

    We start from the breath

A few minutes to leave the day outside and find a steady breath again.

  2. Step 2

    Warm-up and mobility

Gentle movements for the joints and spine, before moving into the positions.

  3. Step 3

    The positions

The day's sequence, always with an easier variation for anyone who needs it.

  4. Step 4

    Final relaxation

The last few minutes on the floor: it's the part many people find themselves waiting for all lesson.

The variants

4 different paths, one studio

Each variant is a course in its own right: the pace, the approach and sometimes the group change. If you’re not sure which to choose, message us.

Yoga

Anyone starting from scratch or wanting a complete, regular practice.

The core path: sequences of positions (asanas), breath work and a final relaxation. The teacher always offers an easier variation and a more demanding one, so beginners and experienced practitioners share the same group.

Yoga Hatha

Anyone looking for a traditional, slow and precise practice.

Positions held for longer, with attention to alignment and breathing. This is classic yoga: you work on stability and deep strength rather than on the speed of the sequence.

Women's Yoga

Women who want a path designed around their own needs.

A practice that follows the rhythms and phases of the female body, with attention to the lower back, pelvis and breathing. The group is women-only: for many, that's what makes it easier to start.

Yoga and Sound

Anyone who wants to add the dimension of sound to their practice.

The practice is accompanied by live sound (harmonium and instruments): the sound guides the breath and the final relaxation. At the Uggiate con Ronago studio, on Saturdays.

Frequently asked questions

Do you need to be flexible or experienced to start yoga?

+
No, and it's the most common misconception. You start as a beginner, with simple positions and variations adapted to your own body: flexibility is a result of the practice, not an entry requirement. In the GiZeta courses at Sagnino and Uggiate con Ronago the groups are small, so the teacher can correct each person's posture.

What's the difference between GiZeta's various yoga courses?

+
At GiZeta you'll find four paths: Yoga, the complete core practice; Yoga Hatha, traditional, with positions held for longer; Women's Yoga, designed around the needs of the female body; and Yoga Harmonium, in which the sequence is accompanied by the live sound of the harmonium. If you're not sure which to choose, message us and we'll guide you.

Yoga or Pilates for back pain?

+
They work in different ways: Pilates strengthens the deep core muscles that stabilise the spine, while yoga works more on mobility, lengthening and breathing. For postural lower-back pain both help, often in complementary ways. At GiZeta you'll find both in the same studios, so you can even alternate between them.

What do you need to bring to your first yoga lesson?

+
Comfortable clothing that lets you move, a mat if you have one (otherwise ask at the venue) and a towel. You practise barefoot. It's best to arrive without having eaten too much in the previous two hours: some positions work on the abdomen, and digesting a heavy meal can feel uncomfortable.

From what age can you attend the yoga course?

+
GiZeta's yoga courses are adult activities, open from age 15–16 upwards. For younger children the right path is psychomotricity, for ages 3 to 9, which works on coordination and body awareness through play. If you're unsure whether the course is right for a teenager, message us and we'll advise you.

How much does yoga cost at GiZeta?

+
Yoga: 10 € per lesson at Sagnino. For Grandola ed Uniti and Uggiate con Ronago the price isn’t in the online list yet: message us and we’ll confirm it right away. On top there is the annual membership fee of 20 €, valid for the whole sports season (1 September – 31 August): it does not include the courses, which are paid per lesson. You’ll find the full price list, the calculation formula and the family discount on the Prices page.

How does signing up for a course work?

+
You sign up for the course and start right away: choose the course, reserve your spot and at your first lesson you are already in. Message us on WhatsApp or fill in the contact form and we’ll tell you available spots, schedules and how to complete your registration.

What if I can no longer continue the course?

+
If during the season a significant issue means you can no longer continue, just talk to the office: together we’ll find the most suitable solution.

Do I need a medical certificate?

+
Yes: everyone enrolled aged 6 and over needs a non-competitive medical certificate. Under the age of 6 it is not required.

How do make-up lessons work?

+
At the Grandola pool you have 3 make-up lessons, still valid in the next cycle too — even if in the meantime you are no longer enrolled.
