Frequently asked questions

Do I need experience to start belly dance?

+
No. The course starts from the fundamental movements and builds them up calmly, step by step. At the GiZeta studio in Uggiate con Ronago the group is welcoming and suits people who have never danced before. You'll learn the basics at your own pace, and there's no pressure to keep up with anyone else.

What are the benefits of belly dance?

+
It works on the hips, abdomen and pelvic mobility, improves posture and coordination, and helps you rediscover body awareness and fluidity. It's also a wonderful way to release stress and lift your mood: the music and the flowing movements make each class feel more like enjoyment than exercise, while your body quietly reaps the benefits.

What age can you do it at?

+
It's a course for adult women with no upper age limit: the movements adapt to every starting level. Whether you're in your twenties or well beyond, you'll find the pace and intensity can be tailored to your body. The focus is on moving well and enjoying it, never on hitting a particular standard.

What should I bring?

+
Comfortable clothing that leaves the hips free to move. Many people use a scarf or a sash tied around the hips to feel the movements better, but it isn't compulsory. You dance barefoot or in non-slip socks. Bring some water too, and you're all set for the class.

When is it held?

+
In the current season belly dance is scheduled on Monday and Thursday evenings at the Uggiate con Ronago studio. Times can vary from season to season, so it's best to check before you come. Message us on WhatsApp or fill in the form and we'll confirm the current days and times straight away.
